Holden are a Folk/Rock four piece from London, fuelled by character, energy and a lust for making authentic music for the masses to embrace.

Barely eighteen months have passed since the band formed, however, the members of Holden have already created a plethora of work on-stage and on-screen that delves into the very heart of their wistful and contemplative vignettes on modern society.

The voice of lead singer/acoustic guitarist Jedd Holden carries a soaring pure emotive tone amply backed and harmonised by brother Ant Holden, wielding a... sharp, piercing layer on lead electric guitar. Dan Coffey on bass guitar lays a competent and solid foundation blending his own baritone voice to the brothers’ whilst Kris Lousley on drums attaches intricate hi-hat work to tasteful grooves.

Gathering individual bites of inspiration from Fred Neil, Nick Drake, Duane Allman and Paul Kossoff, simultaneously infusing classic rock stamps like Led Zeppelin, The Who and Radiohead, Holden produce a live show that teeters from delicate solo voice to brazen explosive power, unleashed with fantastic swiftness.

With roots buried in a rich pageantry of storytelling, all four members’ backgrounds contribute to influencing their songs with an unofficial mantra of “championing the underdog” – these themes of alcoholism, homelessness and internal contemplation can be found filtering throughout their music.

During 2010, tours around Edinburgh, Manchester and the Scilly Isles showcased their set to a growing fanbase with the band also completing TV appearances, live radio broadcasts, clothing endorsements, major label demo recordings and performing at various top London venues such as Camden Proud Galleries and Ronnie Scotts.

For 2011 Holden have embarked on new and exciting projects to enhance their reputation by introducing ‘Holden On The Roof’, a YouTube channel that sees the band perform stripped back acoustic renditions of their repertoire on rooftops around the world. It also gives the opportunity to showcase other exciting artists of similar musical tastes in a mutually beneficial programme. Holden produce, present and broadcast the channel themselves.

With a limited edition EP ‘The Netherhall Sessions’ recently finished, along with several new videos of brand new material AND an album on the way, Holden are very much a band on the ascendency.
